Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition By Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level was 553.91 and is rising with no dicharge from the dams except for minimum flow when Scuba Steve came in from the dock at 6:pm. We had 1-inch of rain in my weather station. There is absolutely no effort to drop the lake for the winter and it looks like they are trying to take us into the spring one big rain from being too high. I do not understand this. The lake is more stained than usual for this time of year and he could see his lure down only about 4-feet but it was very cloudy. The surface water temperature was just under 50-degrees on the main lake but 49 in the creeks.  I was casting a Bobby Garland Baby Shad past the brush and letting it sink into it and catching bass and big crappie. The later in the day the better the fishing. The people wanting bad weather and wind to catch fish should be getting what they want but I did not see them out today. I saw no other boats except the ones staying  at Blackburns Resort and they are excellent fishermen and catching a lot of fish.   The wind and cold  is not my friend. I liked it better yesterday. I am not looking forward to the weather this weekend and would advise you to wait a few days until after that. The next couple of days look pretty good but not Saturday and Sunday and Monday. Scuba Steve will show you where the good brush piles are located if you want bass, crappie, walleye and bluegill. He also knows where the open water fish are located but so does every body else.  Blackburns Has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals and is closest to Mountain Home dining and shopping. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and not have to pay too much. We are open all year and are not on vacation spending your money. Come on down and check out the improvements. No we are not for sale.
