Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 553.65 and still rising slowly with no discharge except for minimum flow. The surface water temperature is 51-degrees and the White River at Newport is 3.37 feet and still very low. There is not much chance of significant rain in the forecast and we are getting dry again. The water seemed more stained in the Blackburns Creek area yesterday and more clear near Robinson Island for some reason. Something must be coming downstream from the river. The water is more clear near the shore.  Several of us are fishing brush piles and catching some very nice bass and crappie with a walleye now and again but not high numbers. We do not kill very many fish anyway. We are using spoons, grubs and jigs. We talked to some trollers who were catching some White Bass. On a sad note My dog Toby did not make it into 2024. I had him for 14-1/2 years and we were inseparable for most time and he was with me both on my travels and on the boat. He loved to go with us Scuba Diving and you better not leave without him. He guarded both the resort and the children here until he could not do it anymore. He was not afraid of anything. He is now joined up with his best friends Paco amd Max.
