Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Scuba Steve with a couple last evening. Image title

The lake level is inching up and is at 553.33 with no rain and dam discharge only minimum flow. It is to rain the next couple of days and it is very cloudy now. The surface water temperature is just over 553 and has been stable for the last few days. The water clarity is the same and I could see my lure down about 6-feet. The creeks are clearing a little especially near the shore. The White River at Newport is 1.55 feet and about ready to dry up indicating not much water is being released anywhere into the White River. About the only thing changing is that fishing is getting a little better and they are biting a little earlier in the cloudy weather especially crappie and bass and that is what I am looking for. I have not caught a walleye in over a week. Open water fishermen are still catching stripers in the 5-8 pound range and several White Bass and smaller Hybrids on the bottom in 50-feet of water but are looking hard and far for them. We are still getting several calls asking if Blackburns is for sale and the answer is no. We are not closed, on vacation or for sale. The places that I know of for sale are Mockingbird Bay, Norfork Lake Inn, Whispering Woods and Cabins,, Bayou Resort and Hummingbird Hideway. Give them a call. This place is staying in the family. We like it here. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We have the best prices in the Ozarks and your first boat stall is free.
