This guy did not stay at Blackburns. He paid $30/day too much for a duplex cabin with no covered porch and had an undesireable neighbor. He also paid for his first boat stall.
The lake level is 553.36 and remains the same with only minimum flow discharge from the dam. The White River at Newport is 2.71 feet and rising a bit but still very low. The surface water temperature is 64-degrees and the main lake remains fairly clear and I could see my lure down about 5-6 feet on the main lake yesterday afternoon in the sunshine. The creeks are still stained but not bad and are at a good color for fishing. A cold front is to come in next week with high temperatures in the low 50's and the fishing could pick up just before then next weekend. I will be fishing until it rains me out. It is time that it happens but it just has not yet. People are fishing hard all day for a few fish. The open water fishermen are looking hard to find a small Striper or two and a few White Bass feeding. Feeding fish are difficult to find but a few are being caught everyday. A few walleye are being caught but most are short. Crappie are schooled in brush from 18-25 feet of water but bite for a few minutes and then quit for a few hours. There are some nice Bluegill biting pretty well in the same brush. I can catch as many fish from 4:PM until dark as I can fishing all day and that is not a lot. Some Bass are moving to the bank on main lake inside points in the evening at sunset. I should be catching more fish at this time than I am but I am not missing any or breaking off. It is nice to be out there in the November sunshine with light wind but that is to change on Monday. We are getting a lot of improvements done in this nice weather at the resort and busy doing maintenance on rental boats. We have no plans for any price increases this year and will continue to provide our many repeat customers an affordable vacation. No, we are not for sale.
