The lake level is 553.37 and has been the same for over 2-weeks with no discharge except for minimum flow. The White River at Newport is 3.41 feet and very low but they have started to generate heavily on Bull Shoals but also on Table Rock filling Bull Shoals back up. Table Rock has been the only lake that they keep several feet below power pool and drawing it down in the winter to prevent Branson Landing from flooding in the spring. They tried letting that happen once and got so much blow back that they will not let that happen again. Bull Shoals and Norfork do not matter. It is all about the $. I would like to see Norfork at about 548 going into the spring. Both generators are still inoperable. The surface water tmeperature is 62-63 degrees and the water is fairly clear and you can see your lure down 5-6 feet in the sunshine. The creeks are still satined a bit but not bad. Fishing is still not the best with a few of about everything being caught. Brush piles are producing a few Crappie, Bass and several Bluegill. A few Temperate Bass are biting spoons in open water on shad and a few walleye are coming to the bank to feed on shadowy banks at sunset. Nothing is on fire, in a feeding frenzy, biting heavily or hammering anything but a few are being caught everyday if you work at it. It is definitely tough in the day time in the sunshine. I am doing the best right at sunset but the ambient temperature cools off fast. The best bet for striper fishermen is just before the full moon which is the 27th. The weather remains nice with not much chance of rain until Sunday evening. Blackburns still has the best prices in the Ozarks and you can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $59/day and a 2-bedroom for $79/day and they come with a free stall for your boat at our dock on stays of two days or more. We do not have boat stalls for one day rentals. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and we will not charge you too much and you will not have to stay in a duplex.
