Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Image titleCarl Scott is back from texas and catching fish already.

The lake level is 553.26 and has been the same for 5-days with no discharge but minimum flow. Both generators are inoperable. The surface water temperature is 65-degrees and the water is clearing nicely including the creeks. I can see my lure down over 5-feet. The White River at Newport is 6.29 feet and dropping. They are reluctant to drop Norfork to below 553 and the level has been stable for several months and is still about 5-feet higher than I would like it going into the spring rains but that a several months away. The lake is in good condition, the weather is beautiful and fishing is just fair at best. I am using the grub and minnow, jig and small spoon over brush exclusively now and catching a few fish with crappie being the best. Some are using a live minnow directly over brush about 8-10 feet down on a slip float.Trollers are having a hard time and do not know what to do and I cannot help them as I do not troll. They are catching some huge bluegill off Blackburns Dock.  Blackburns is only a little over 1/2 full and we need more business to make improvements. You will not be paying for my vacation because I do not take one. I feel like I am in the best place all the time and have no desire to go any where else. We are open all year. If you or your family are coming to the Mountain Home area come on down and visit. Our 1-bedroom cabins are $59/day and a free stall for your boat is included.
