Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountain region Fishing Report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Caught fishing with Bink's Guide Service. He knows where they are. Image title

The lake level is 553.18 and stable with no discharge from the dam for 4-days. The White River at Newport is 3.19 feet and very low. The surface water temperature is 75-degrees and the creeks are stained green and the visibility has diminished a bit on the main lake where it was clear. This is not unusual this time of year with the varying ambient temperatures from warm to cool causing things to mix a bit below about 12-15 feet. It looks clear from the surface but is not when you get down there. Several Kentucky bass are in front of or in Main lake brush from 12-30-feet and more and more Smallmouth and Largemouth are mixing in with them. Bink is catching some nice stripers in larger creeks in 90-100 ft. of water suspended about 35-feet down on his spoon. Crappie are schooled and roaming from brush pile to brush pile looking for bait fish. Look on gravelly banks that the wind has been blowing into on the main lake. There is a top water bite some days early and late for bass part way back in the creeks.  Fishing overall is just fair but some nice ones are being caught everyday. The weather has been beautiful but we are to get increased wind with a cold front moving in for the weekend with cool weather extending into next week. Blackburns is still the home of the $59/day 1-bedroom cabins and they come with a free stall for your boat in our dock. Come on down and we will not charge you too much. Why pay more unless you just have too much money? Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. You will like it here and we are open all year.
