The lake level is 553.75 and has dropped just a bit in the last 24-hours. They did open the sluice gates equal to 2/3rds of a generator at 9:AM this morning after 6-days of nothing. The White River at Newport is 2.34 feet and is as low as I can remember seeing it ever. They are really resisting letting out any water anywhere. We are about 3-feet higher than we should be for this time of year. The generators are still inoperable and have been for months. I know some good maintenance people that I can send over to help. The surface water temperature is 85-degrees and the lake is starting to clear already. A storm came through at about 3:PM and left 1/2 inch of rain here at Blackburns with some wind. The rain was badly needed and we had no damage here but other places had some power outages. Most were west of us. The Labor day weekend was uneventful as far as accidents on the lake and there was a lot of law enforcement out there.  We do not want you to come on vacation and leave on probation. Blackburns goes on their off-season rates effective today and you can get a 1-bedroom cabin for $59/day and they come with a free stall for your boat. You can't best that anywhere. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much. Fishing season is here and the lake is back to normal with all of the summer holidays over with peace and quiet. Thank you.
