The lake level is 553.68 and has been the same for three days. They closed the sluice gates and the generators are still inoperable. The White River at Newport is at 4.49 feet and about ready to dry up so no water is being released anywhere. The surface water temperature is 85-degrees and ther thermocline is at 32-feet. The holiday churning with all of the boats will change everything so give it a few days to clear and settle out and then go fishing. Blackburns goes on there off-season rates on Tuesday and you can then get a 1-bed room cabin for $59/day and a 2-bedroom for $77. Three and four bedrooms priced accordingly. No better deal around and they come with a free stall for your boat. All cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches to get out of the sun and rain. The big pool with slide and baby pool remain open until it gets too cold. It will be peace and quiet with no drama. We know our prices are low but want our many repeat customers to have an affordable vacation. If you are in town for the weekend stop by and check us out. You will like what you see. You can return for a visit and not have to pay too much. If you are going to try and go fishing get out early before the crowd. I will not be amongst them.I am not a big fan of summer holiday weekends. You can go to a marina and get a $20 frozen pizza. I am too poor. The lake overall is in excellent condition and at a good level for boating and swimming and all campgrounds and launches are open.
