The lake level is 556.96 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with no discharge for 4-days. The level is creeping up there and needs to be dropped. The White River at newport is 4.75 feet. Both generators are still inoperable and have been for months. The surface water temperature is 87-degrees and the thermocline is at 23-feet  with clear water down to 16-feet and a mud line from there down to the thermocline with no visibility. It clears up again in the cold water. A lot of fish continue to be on main lake brush in 23-feet of water near the bottom. Drop a 1/4 ounce spoon and touch bottom. When fishing after dark with a black light and saltcraw go to just north of Cranfield Island on the east side and work the first drop-off and follow the bank north. there are a lot of bass there. Bink is still catching stripers and walleye deep with his larger jigging spoon. White Bass are starting to show up on main lake points at the thermocline and are moving and spooky. Crappie fishing is picking up a little on live minnows on brush. There are a lot of fry in the brush shallow and mostly bass. The small moon is good for catfish on prepared bait and they also like the slowly rising water.  The top of the poer pool is now 555.76 again and I would like the level to be below that. Blackburns has a couple of openings starting on saturday so give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation. We will not charge you too much and your first boat stall is free at our large dock. The children will love the pool with slide and feeding the fish and turtles.
