The lake level is 557.44 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with sluice gates open to an equavalent of about 1-1/3rd generators which are inoperable for about 9-hours. The White River at Newport is 7.24 feet and dropping with no effort to drop area lakes and not much water being let out anywhere. We have received a total of about 1-inch of badly needed rain in the last 3-days that all sunk in with no runoff. We are still dry but it is better. The surface water temperature is 81-82 degrees and the lake is clear especially near thye shore. The creeks are stained a little green. Crappie are showing up on brush inside main lake points on and around  shallow brush and are hitting monkey milk and blue ice 2-inch jigs. Some bass are atill on shad but some are also on the first drop-off on and around main lake points feeding on crawdads in the evening. Stripers are going deeper and biting jigging spoons. The thermocline is dropping slowly and is not at 16-17 feet with several species of fish at or near that depth including walleye. Bluegill are shallower on the top of brush. Some very large Red Ear are being caught. Other bluegill are under docks and biting crickets. The lake overall is at a good level and condition for boating, swimming and fishing. Get out early, take the middle of the day off and go back out in the evening. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much.
