The lake level is 557.27 and has dropped just a bit in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 1/3 the time. The White River at Newport is 12.16 feet and they are running Bull Shoals heavily. The water clarity is not good after the holiday boat traffic churn but will clear quickly now that things are back to normal. The creeks are worse with the waves lapping the dirt and clay off the bank. The surface water temperature is 80-degrees and rising with the bright sunshine and light winds. The gar are moving into the creeks and chasing out the catfish so main lake cuts are better for them now. The channel cats will come into the backs of the creeks soon. Stripers are biting pretty good on spoons and are going deeper. Crappie are on brush about 5-10 feet down on live minnows on slip floats and small spoons and jigs. There is still a top-water bite for bass early but several of them are on brush also. Fish of different species are coming in under lights on docks after dark with the shad. It is spooning time. Blackburns still has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the ozarks and a free stall for your boats comes with the cabin. All cabins are individual with no duplexes or multi-units and all have big covered porches. Come on down. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much.
