Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains region Fishing Report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 557.35 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 8-hours. The lake has been very stable for a week with no rain. The White River at Newport is 11.99 feet and has also been stable. The surface water temperature is 79-degrees in the mornings and 80 in the afternoon in the sunny skies. The nights have been cool. We will see what all of the holiday boat traffic does to the water clarity but it was 8-10 feet yesterday afternoon on the main lake and 4-5 feet and a greenish color in the creeks. There are a lot of fish under docks part way back in the creeks and on brush on main lake points in about 25-ft. of water on brush. Cast a small jig past the brush and let it sink into it for crappie and use a 1/4 ounce spoon for walleye and bass. White Bass are still coming in under docks under lights at night. Catfishing is fair on throw lines and drop-shotted jugs part way back in the creeks on live Bluegill with some nice ones but not big numbers. Blackburns is full now but give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 as we have a couple of openings starting on Tuesday. Our 1-bedroom cabins are now $90/day or $475/week which is the best in the Ozarks and come with a free stall for your boat. No sense paying more unless you just have too much money. Yes we do have 12-pontoons for rent and several bass boats.
