Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Mike with a nice one last evening. We like all kinds of fishing here at Blackburns. Image title

The lake level is 557.38 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 9-hours. The White River at Newport is 12.41 feet and stable. There is very little chance for rain for the next week and the weather looks beautiful. The surface water temperature is 75-degrees and the water clarity remains the same and you can see your lure down about 6-feet on the main lake and less in the creeks. The water near the shore remains clear. There was some bass surfacing in Blackburns Creek when I came in about 6:PM last evening. There is still a top-water bite most mornings for bass and stripers but it does not last very long. The crappie spawn is about over and they have moved to the brush and are post-spawn feeding about 5-10 feet down. They do not like the sunshine so look for shady places or fish early or late in the shadows or under docks.  Right at sunset is a good time. Live minnows on slip-floats, small spoons and 2-inch jigs are all working. Catfish are liking shiners and 3-inch bluegill. The lake overall is in excellent condition and at a good level for fishing. boating and swimming. The fishing is fair to good depending on capabilities. About everything is biting somewhat and it is hard to tell what you might catch. Blackburns still has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat in our dock comes with each cabin rental. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much.
