The lake level is 556.99 and has risen 1-1/3rd inch in the last 24-hours and continues it's steady rise without much water being released. There has been no generation for 3-days but they have two spillway gates open two feet which is equal to about 1/3rd of a generator. The surface water tmeperature is 76-degrees and has been stable for a few days. The visibility has deteriorated both in the creeks and main lake a bit but is still a good color for fishing. We have a good chance for a little rain tomorrow and then not much for several days. Both the morning and evening top-water bite continues to be the best for both bass and red meat fish. The bottom line is that the top-water bite is slowing, the creature bait bite for bass is about over and the fish are going deeper. It is spooning time on both brush and in open water on shad. The shallow thermocline will form soon and there will be a lot of fish around it. The White River at Newport is 11.78 feet and has leveled off and they are regulating to 12-feet which does not allow for much dicharge from anywhere. They like to keep it just one big rain from being too high. The level was 571.43 and the White River was 20.90 feet and the surface water temperature was exactly what it was on this date last year. We are in much better shape so far this year and the lake is in excellent condition for swimming, fishing and boating with all lake facilities being open and normal.
