Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

Ruben Sanchez and Truman and David Zinn with some of yesterday's catch. Nice ones. Image title

The lake level is 556.88 and has risen 2-inches in the last 24-hours with no generation for 2-days. They did open spillway gates 2-feet  that equals about 1/3rd of a generator. The White River at Newport is 11.53 feet and dropping and as low as it has been for months. We are now over the top of the power pool of 556.75 feet and the Corps of engineers are back in control and we have a better chance of getting it down again instead of the steady rise. It would be nice to have it stay right here. The fishing continues to be good and most species are biting with the top-water bite early being the best. Fish can come up at anytime on cloudy days especially bass. Trollers are dragging umbrellas and catching some nice sized stripers. Crappie are biting on live minnows on slip floats over brush and catfish are hitting live shiners and bluegill on throw lines and drop-shotted jugs. The lake level is too low for limb lines and most of the shoreline bushes and trees are dead already. Surface water temperature is 76-degrees. This is a good time for a fishing trip before the holiday and the summer price increases. Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for a reservation and we will not charge you too much. We especially welcome Police and Veterans. Blackburns summer rates are about what others charge in the winter and a free boat stall comes with your cabin.
