Caught fishing with Bink's Guide Service on top-water. Mark Morgan.
The lake level is 554.92 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running for about 6-hours. We did receive 1/2 inch of rain yesterday afternoon about 4:30 PM and it came down hard. The severe stuff went south of us and we got very little wind and no hail. Some was reported in the area but not here. The White River is 12.53 feet and dropping toward 12-feet. The surface water temperature is 70-degrees and the water is clearing and I could see my lure down 7-8 feet on the main lake and it is very crear out several feet from the bank. You can now see bass on beds. Some spawned out crappie have moved in under the dock and some of the big bluegill have gone. There is a top-water bite most mornings now with the warm nightime lows and it lasts for a few hours on cloudy days but not very long on sunny ones. The one in the evening is mostly bass partway back in the creeks. Live minnows on slip-floats are catching crappie on brush. I am not seeing as many threadfin shad spawning but some large gizzard shad are back in the creeks. Things are changing rapidly and you have to be out there everyday for an accurate report. Scuba Steve goes out after his work is done and has several good fishermen from different parts of the lake giving him daily reports. Check this report daily for what is happening. Blackburns continues to have the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free boat stall comes with your cabin. You have to watch. Some charge for this.
