Carl Scott caught a lot of fish this week and released most of them under the dock. See you again soon. Image title

The lake level is 554.86 and has risen 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 6-hours. The White River at Newport is 12.76 and has leveled off. The surface water temperature is 70-degrees and rising. The water clarity is good and you can see your lure down 7-8 feet and the water is very clear near the shore. The lake is in very good condition for boating and fishing and is at a very good level. All launches and parking areas are open. The top-water bite is getting better everyday and is especially good and lasts much longer on cloudy mornings. There is another one in the evening. Use a Zara Spook or SpitinImage when they come up and switch to a 3-inch swim bait when they go down in the same areas.  Bass and all red meat fish are coming up together. The threadfin shad are spawning and the bluegill are moving to the beds. This is an excellent time fishing for most species. The smallmouth bass have just turned on again. Get out early, take the middle of the day off and then go out about 5:30 PM until sunset. If you are in town and paying too much staying elsewhere stop by Blackburns and Check us out. It is very nice here and we will not charge you too much and a free boat stall comes with your cabin rental. We especially welcome Police and Veterans. I have said many times before: I am a Veteran but do not need nearly as much policing as I used to for some reason. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental you are paying too much. We are proud of this place.
