The lake level is 554.82 and has risen 3/4 of an inch in the last 24-hours with about 4-hours of running one generator. The White River at Newport is 12.91 ft. and dropping and headed for 12-feet. The surface water temperature was 68+ degrees this morning and will hit 70-by  this evening. The water is clear and you can see your lure down 7-8 feet. There is some pollen on windblown banks and the top-water bite is good at sunrise but lasts longer on cloudy days. The Smallmouth bass are biting well and several 3-4 pounders are being caught on creature baits. Some White Bass, Crappie, Black Bass and Hybrids are still full of eggs. The slowly rising water level will make for a good spawn for what is left. The fishing is getting better every day and the lake overall is in excellent condition for fishing and boating. Throw a top-water lure when they come up and switch to a 3-inch swim bait when the go down. More post-spawn fish are moving to brush piles everyday. Blackburns still has the best prices in the Ozarks on both cabins and boat rentals and all of our cabins are individual with no duplexes and all have big covered porches to get out of the sun and rain. A free stall comes with each cabin rental for your boat at our dock.  Compare prices and then give Debbie a call at 870-482-5115 to get a reservation. If you are not staying at Blackburns Resort and Boat rental you are paying too much. Nobody wants to do that.
