The lake level is 554.77 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 4-hours. The White River at Newport is 13.41 feet and stable and the water is clearing and you can see your lure down about 7-feet. The surface water tmeperature is in the high 60's and rising. There is a chance of thunder showers all this week but nothing serious and it is to get to near 90 degrees. The bite continues to get better with bass fishing being the best followed by crappie. Some stripers in the 5-8 pound range are coming up in the morning. The lake is at a good level and in excellent condition overall for both boating and fishing. Several walleye are being caught but most are throw backs. Brush pile fishing is getting better and better as the spawn progresses. Bluegill will be on the beds soon. The winners of the Bass cat Invitational caught a two day total 30.63 pounds and won by a goodly margin. There were 309 boats and now they are gone and the lake is back to normal as far as boat traffic is concerned and there should be peace and quiet until Memorial Day weekend which is only three weeks away. With the slowly rising water and moon getting smaller it is about time to get ready for catfishing.  Blackburns still has the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks and a free stall for your boat in our dock comes with each cabin.
