Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The Davis brothers and Justin Kerkove are back and catching fish. Don caught and released this 36-lb. flathead on a crank bait yesterday. Image titleImage title

The lake level is 554.67 and is approaching the top of the power pool of 553.75 feet. It dropped a little over 6-inches in the last 24-hours and they lowered the spillway gates a little and were letting out 1-1/3 generator through them and running one generator continuously. They now have closed the spilway gates and are running one generator only and the drop has slowed way down.  The White River at Newport is 19.81 feet and dropping. The surface water temperature is 66-degrees and the water is a greenish brown color and I can see my lure down about 5-feet in Blackburns area. The lake is at a good level, good color and good condition for fishing. The weather has been cool and we have a good chance for rain for the next few days. Fishing is better and improving everyday. Look out when the water level stabilizes and the night time ambient temperatures warm a bit. Come on down to Blackburns. You can save a minimum of $30/day on cabin rentals and a free stall comes with the cabin for your boat. If you are in the area stop by and check us out before you leave. No sense paying too much unless you just have too much money.
