Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 562.83 and has risen 6-1/2 feet since the rain with no generation since 6:PM last evening and not much before then. It is rising at the rate of about 1/2 inch per hour.  The White River at Newport is 27.33 ft. and is in minor flood stage so do not expect them to let out much water for a while. The surface water temperature was all over the place yesterday but mostly in the mid 50's. The brown is falling out of the water back in the creeks in Blackburns area already but I do not know what is coming downstream from the north except that there is some debris in the river channel at the mouth of Blackburns Creek and heading to the 101 bridge and fairly quickly. It will go with the wind and current but should not go very far back in the creeks as it goes by them.  We have a lot of fishermen in that are taking advantage of the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks. We were nearly full yesterday and that is with all of the cabins open. Several expressed their gratitude on us not raising prices on them. It is time to get ready to mow the yard. The lake is not in bad condition and I will get you a report on fishing later. It is changing everyday. The Float Creek area is a good place to start and there are some red meat fish in front of the docks at Mallard Point but some debris is going by there and some crappie and bass part way back in Hensley's Creek. Panther and Fall Creeks should clear up fairly quickly.
