Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in The Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 558.71 and has dropped 4-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running continuously and spillway gates open to supplement the drop. The new news is that they just opened up the spillway gates more at 8:AM this morning and they are now equavalent to a total of three generators with the one already running and that is about as fast as they can drop it and still keep the White River at Newport at 24.55 feet. This drop is very welcome even though it and the cold front have not helped fishing any. It is predicted to be at 557.50 by Friday.  There is a pretty strong current in the main lake river channel with the heavy water discharge but it has cleared up some as have the creeks. Most of the slug of dirty water from last weeks rain runoff has now moved through the system and has cleared as it moved downstream. We are to get more rain momorrow and then another cold front with very cold night-time lows this weekend again. Some open water small stripers and a few hybrids and  a few spawned out White Bass  are in front of the striper spawning banks in fairly shallow water on shad and are being caught trolling live bait or umbrellas through them. You have to do a lot of looking and burn a lot of gas to find feeding fish. Some also spawned out walleye are biting under lights off docks well after dark. I have several fish hanging out under my dock feeding on the small bluegill.
