Caught on the Bink's Spoon yesterday.
The lake level is 556.22 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in 24-hours with a little more generation. The surface water temperature is 84.5 degrees and the water ramains clear on the main lake. I was out there in 102 ft. of water and the fish are coming up all over and it started about 8:AM. We were spooning in a little less than 40-ft. of water and catching walleye when the surfacing began. You could cast a spoon or spook and catch fish after fish. Big White Bass, Largemouth and stripers were all together on shad. It surprised me a bit as the fish had been coming up in the evening until yesterday when a few come up early. Normally there is not much of a top-water bite in August except sporatic. This sure has been a different year. Fishing now should get better and better until the lake turns over in October and get good again after the thermocline has gone and the water clears back up. It is now at 30-ft. The last dissolved oxygen report showed little oxygen at 40-ft. but there are fish there now for some reason. The walleye caught were in 37-ft. on the bottom.
