The lake level is 560 93 and is rising slowly with no generation since yesterday afternoon. They always quit generating when it rains. The White River at Newport is almost 14-ft. and they cannot have that. It floods at 26-feet. we received a little more rain yesterday but not much and are to get more today and then get hot again. Things have started to green up again somewhat. The surface water temperature is 87-86 degrees and falling slowly with the cooler weather. It will not drop starting tuesday or wednesday. Striper and waleye fishermen are doing the best in the early morning on shad and on brush in from 30-50 ft. of water either on the bottom or suspended. Some white bass are in the same places but a little shallower. Spoons are still the best but trollers are catching a few stripers but they are small in the 5-8 pouind range. A few catfish are being caught but not like they should be in these conditions. I just am not seeing the channel catfish like usual this year. Flatheads have been the best. The night bass fishermen are still doing well on saltcraws and everything else it about the same. Drop a spoon on main lake points in 35-ft. of water near brush for walleye touching bottom and snapping ths spoon up 6-7 feet and allow it to drop on slack line. The heavy rain has been all around us but not so much here. Call Debbie at 870-492-5115 for the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the Ozarks.
