Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region Fishing Report and Lake Condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 564.53 and has dropped 4-inches in the last 24-hours. They quit generating for a few hours last night but are running both generators for about 20-hours a day. The White River at Newport is at exactly 14-feet and we still have not had any rain and there is none in sight. The surface water temperature is 90-degrees. It cooled down for a couple of days with a weak cold front and a north wind but is back to being hot again with the wind from the south. Striper fishing continues to be the best with fish on shad at various depths but tend to be shallower early morning and then go deeper after sunrise. Bass fishing after dark with a black light is second with some crappie and bluegill still biting on brush and under docks. A few catfish are on drop shotted jugs in 20-30 feet of water baited with live bluegill or shiners. Other than that nothing has changed. I will check out water clarity and thermocline later today and see if it is settling after the holiday.  Blackburns still has one cabin open for this week so give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 for details. We will not charge you too much and a free boat stall comes with your cabin except for one night stays.
