The lake level is 565.60 and has dropped 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. They continue to run both generators about 1/2 the time and cut back to one for the other half. The weather remains very hot but it is to drop into the low to mid 90's for this weekend and then back up again next week. It is cloudy this morning and some rain is expected but not much. We will take any we can get. The lake has dropped 7-1/2 feet from it's high on June 6th. Norfork is 34% full as is the four lake system. They are predicting it get back to normal (what ever that is) by August 20th. Surface water temperature remains at 90 degrees and has been at that level for several days now. The White River at Newport is being controlled to 14-feet and is at 13.83 feet. We went diving yesterday and the visibility was not good past 14-feet until below the thermocline in the cold water. That is typical for this time of year. Bink is still catching Stripers and Hybrids in the same places on his spoon early, bass fishermen are doing well after dark on saltcraws, others are catching crappie on wood in 25-30 ft. of water back in the creeks and dock fishermen are still catching crappie, bluegill and catfish off the dock. A few Kentucky bass are feeding near the bank in buckbrush in the evening in about 12- feet of water and that is all I know of. I usually see a lot of White Bass this time of year diving but not so much this year. The water got hot earlier than normal this year but is in good condition for swimming and boating.  Yes, Blackburns does have the best prices on both cabins and boat rentals in the area.
