Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 566.85 and has dropped 3-1/3 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running 1/2 the time and one the rest. Surface water temperature is 89 degrees and the lake is all sirred up with the boat traffic. There are a lot more floating mats out there than drag toys with the high gas prices. They drag everytning they can hook up to for the first day, fill their boats up with gas the next and then play on their floating mat the next. Things sure change a lot with the gas prices. They were about $1.71/gallon two years ago. Then everyone was putting big motors on small pontoon boats and seeing how fast they could go. Not so much anymore. Wake boats cost from $70,000 and up and if you buy one and have a mortgage you have to use them no matter how high the price of fuel and there are more and more of them out there. The traffic will slow down this afternoon and things will get better tomorrow. It has been busy. One more summer holiday is almost in the books and one more to go. Debbie's dog Paco died last night and it is very sad around here.
