Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 567.14 and has dropped 3-1/3rd inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running about 1/2 the time and one the other half. Surface water temperature is 88-degrees and the lake is cloudy with all of the boats churning up the water. It is very busy out there. The White River at Newport is 13.71 feet as they continue to regulate to about 14-ft. The lake is in good condition for swimming, boating and fishing. The best bite is still temperate bass in the early mornings on shad in the mouths of the creeks and around the Hwy 101 bridge piers from 50-80 feet of water near the bottom. A few bass and white bass are coming up sporatically.  Some very nice Kentucky bass are part way back in the creeks in front of and around brush with some crappie. Other crappie are under docks in 25-30 ft. of water just off the bottom and can be caught on minnows and small spoons and big bluegill are in the same area and biting crickets. The lake should start to clear on monday evening and be better by the middle of the week but it is to be very hot. You will definitely need a pool and dock for swimming. A free boat stall comes with your cabin  here at Blackburns except for one night stays.
