Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

The lake level is 568 35 and has dropped 2-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours after being shut down all evening and then starting up one generator early morning. The surface water temperature is 85-degree and has dropped a couple with the recent cooler weather. It is to warm back up into the 90's later this week. The water looks clear fromthe surface and is down to about 12-feet and then there is a mud line down to the thermoicline at 20-feet and them clearer again in the cold water at 25-ft. The walleye are in the mud line and are hard to see but not hard to catch on a spoon touching bottom. More walleye are with the stripers and are also biting spoons from 50-80 ft. of water also on the bottom. It seems too early for them to be looking for the oxygen bubble but they are cruising and moving through certain areas early morning and then disappearing again but some nice ones are being caught. I am still getting keeper walleye on main lake points in 18-25 ft. of water just off the bottom. Some Kentucky bass are just shallower. Crappie are still on the same brush back in the creeks and under docks in the shade. The lake in general is in good condition for boating, swimming and fishing. There are boats all over the Hwy 101 bridge piers trolling for stripers. They have more gas money than I have.
