The lake level is 569.63 and has dropped 3-1/3 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running for about 20-hours. The White River at Newport is at 13.90 and is steady. Surface water temperature is 87 degrees and also steady. The water looks clear from the surface but is cloudy when you get down there in it past about 12-feet. I found some White Bass just inside a main lake point in about 22-ft. of water but there were no big ones. Walleye are on main lake points in 26-feet of water near the bottom. Bass are in the same place but a little shallower but mostly Kentuckies. Find shad in about 60-ft. of water and drop a spoon in them for early morning stripers and hybrids. They are catching a lot of crappie off Blackburns dock everyday. There is a top-water bite for bass some mornings early. It is summer for sure and the thermocline is pushing down and there is a mud line just before it and a lot of fish are at or just below that in about 25-ft. Blackburns just had one cabin come available for next week so give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 so you do not have to pay too much elsewhere. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and a free boat stall comes with your cabin. No need to bring a tent as we have big covered porches.
