Scuba Steve with the fish of the day.
The lake level is 572.26 and has dropped 2-inches in the last 24-hours with about 14-hours of running both generators. The White River is 14.27 feet at Newport and is holding steady. It is hot and dry with no chances of rain for several days and the surface water temperature is 81-degrees on the main lake and 84 in Blackburns Creek and rising quickly in the sunshine. The clarity remains good and I am getting ready for opening day of spearfishing tomorrow and have my diving gear loaded up. My next stop is Scuba Doo Dive Shop for a few items and tank visuals . They are full service and only 1/2 mile away. I will give it a try if I get my work at the resort finished on time. This could be the best diving season in several years with the good clarity and walleye and crappie numbers being high. I will miss my friend Gus driving the boat. Trollers are catching stripers at this time dragging live bait and umbrellas through shad. Others are spooning. I am fishing bass, crappie and catfish and catching some of each in the limited time I have to go out. It is very busy here with people taking advantage of the best prices in the area on borh cabins and boat rentals. Come on down. We will not charge you too much.
