Norfork Lake Arkansas nesr Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental

The lake level is 572.70 and has risen 3/4 inch in the last 24-hours with about 12-hours of running one or less than one generator. The White River at Newport is at 17.77 feet and dropping quickly. That means they are releasing much less water and the area lakes will not go down any time soon. All lakes are still rising at this time even with no rain. They have changed the crest and date for Norfork to 573.30 and it is to be on 7 June with the lake at 68% full. We will see how that changes when they get back from the holiday. The surface water temperature is between 71 and 72 degrees and rising slowly. The water clarity has gone down with the high boat traffic churning things up but should clear up again soon. We have had a few fishermen out very early before the crowd but most are waiting for things to calm down. We are full here at Blackburns with several boats rented and I certainly do not have time to fish at this time but will try to get out again soon. I have not heard of any serious injuries or bad accidents on the lake so far and there are a lot of law enforcement out there and both of those things are good. Things will calm down at about 5:PM today. We have a nice quiet group here at Blackburns with almost all being repeat customers with families and appreciate the big pool with slide and all of the playground activities and fishing at the dock. I received my pre-buy propane price in the mail. Wow. It is double what it was last year. I saw a frozen pizza at a marina yesterday was $20 plus tax and gas was $5.31 and  wonder how long people can afford these prices. I know I cannot.
