The lake level is 572.41 and has risen 2-inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 10-hours. They have changed the crest prediction again and it is now at 572.70 and it is to be on 30 May. The White River at Newport is 19.77 and rising and the four lake system is 67% full with all area lakes rising. We have received another 1/2 inch of rain in the last 24-hours and the surface water temperature is 71+ degrees and the main lake is very clear and the  creeks are clearing also and are clear near the shore. The weekend boat traffic will stir things up a bit especially near dirt banks. Fish were coming up all over the place in Blackburns Creek last evening about 6:45 PM and most of them were bass. They were fun to catch and release though. There is some floating debris coming loose from the shore with the steadily rising water so check things out before dragging children around and stay off the lake after dark. I will only run my catfish lines now early and late and check out lake conditions until the holiday is over and leave it to the locals and day users. We have the resort ready for the crowd and everything looks pretty good. We have been mostly full since early March so it will not be much of a change. Have patience at the boat launches and be prepared to walk a long way to the boat trailer parking. Swim off a boat in 25-ft. of water or more or in a pool. Do not worry about gas prices or paying too much for a place to stay. Easy come, easy go.
