The lake level is 571.57 and has risen 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with less than one generator running about 10-hours. The level stays the same when they generate and rises slowly when they quit. The White River at Newport is at 20.30 ft. and steadily dropping. They are still dropping Table Rock by running all of the generators and several spillway gates open filling Bull Shoals Rapidly. The four lake system is now at 63% full according to the Corps Of Engineers but looks a lot fuller to me. The predicted crest for Norfork lake is 572.12 on 29 May but there are good chances of rain most of the rest of this week and windy. The surface water temperature was 75 degrees yesterday afternoon and the water remains clear on the main lake and still stained in the creeks. The overall color is good for fishing. The top-water bite remains the best one and starts at about 5:45 AM and runs for about an hour but longer on cloudy days with temperate bass and black bass together.  After they go down you can call them back up with good presentation of your top-water lure even when they are not visible. Work the old shoreline which is about 18-ft. deep and the fish are in about 12-feet. Some nice White Bass are being caught but not nearly as many as in the past. Meat hunters are keeping them thinned down with the same people out there day after day.  Channel cats are biting on live bait on limb lines and short throw lines along with a few flatheads part way back in the creeks. I have not caught any blues yet. Big bluegill are biting crickets and small spoons under docks and shallow structure. Blackburns still has two cabins open so come on down. We will not charge you too much and a free boat stall comes with your cabin and all are individual with no duplexes and have big covered porches. Gas just went up to $4.35 for unleaded non-alcohol in town. I do not know what it is at marinas. Inflation may be at 8% according to the government but try to buy tires, batteries, lumber and boat parts let alone propane, electricity and insurance. Blackburns has held prices for you but it is getting difficult. Come visit and take advantage of us with our ridiculous low prices. We have it all and with the best price anywhere.
