The lake level is 571.43 and has risen 1-inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running about 10-hours. The White River at Newport is 20.90 and dropping. The surface water temperature is in the mid 70's and rising. The main lake is clear and the creeks are stained. They keep dropping Table Rock quickly and generating as hard as they can wilh all generators running and spillway gates open and filling Bull Shoals fast. They cannot keep doing this for much longer with Bull Shoals being over 23-ft. above power pool already. It thundered early this morning but we just received just a little rain. It is to stay hot for a couple more days and then another cold front is coming with cooler temperatures and good chances of rain later this week with wind. Our normal high is 77 and we are to struggle to get to 70. I caught a nice big flathead yesterday but the bite has slowed with the big moon. The channel cats are picking up and will get better and better as the moon wanes. The water level is perfect now for limb lines. The top-water bite is the best at this time with fish coming up most mornings, especially cloudy ones. Look in wind blown creeks near the old shoreline 1n 18-20 ft. of water for surfacing shad early and then they move out to deeper water as the sun rises. Bass fishermen in Float Creek are catching  all kinds of bass on plastic worms early and late behind the buckbrush. Bluegill are around willows and under docks and biting on small spoons, worms and crickets. Walleye are around Robinson Island and Cranfield Island and hitting bottom bouncers and small crank baits on the bottom in 18020-ft. of water. This is a good time for a fishing trip before the holiday which starts on the 27th. There is still peace and quiet but that will all change then with day users crowding the launches and very limited trailer and vehicle parking. The children are having a great time in our big pool with slide and Blackburns has been very busy and we like that. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and a free boat stall comes with your room or you can rent a boat from us. We have a lot of them. Sorry we do not have boat stalls for one night stays.
