The lake level is 552.92 and has dropped 1/2 inch in the last 24-hours with one generator running continuously. The White River at Newport is 19.61 and dropping. The surface water temperature is between 51 and 52 and staying about the same. It may come up a degree today with the warmer weather, It is to start raining tonight and continue tomorrow with about 2-inches expected and windy. Things should calm down by friday but get cooler with highs in the high 50's. Our normal high is 63. Stripers have finished their so-called spawn and have moved back out on shad to feed and are mixed in the white bass and hybrids. Crappie are wanting to spawn bad but I just found a big school of them on a main lake point on brush instead of back in the creeks and they were feeding but I just did not want to fight the wind for very long and caught a few and came in. My self-imposed limit is five and I do not want to kill huge stringers of them to impress anybody and especially not this time of year. Leave that for the guides.  I keep no frozen fish in inventory. I am still not seeing any bass on beds or making nests yet and Blackburns Creeks will be full of them soon. It is very busy here with people looking for real estate, closing on houses, visiting Nurse, working from out of town and fishermen. About 1/3rd of our customers are fishermen. We like a mixed group and prefer to stay nearly full. We especially welcome Veterans and Police. Yesterday Tom was mowing, Dave was spraying for bugs, Adam was working on the pool, Debbie and Amy were cleaning cabins and painting outside porch chairs and Scuba Steve was at the bar or fishing. Actually I have not been to a bar in several months but do like to stop in at the VFW every once in a while. Nice people there and good food.  Blackburns is really looking good and we are ready for yoiur visit. Come on down. We will not charge you too much and your first boat stall is free. Our one bedroom cabins are all ready now and all have new roofs, laminate floors, new heater/air conditioners, counter tops and cabinets, much new furniture and most new mattresses and bedding. No wonder I am broke.
