The lake level is 552.81 and has dropped 1.2 inches in the last 24-hours with both generators running about 2/3rds the time. The White River at Newport is 20.27 and dropping but they are still letting out a lot of water. The surface water temperature was 50+ yesterday afternoon and should continue to rise with the warm weather and no cold fronts coming through. The two fronts coming up from the gulf and down from Colorado should meet south of us this time but they just keep coming but March is only 1/2 gone and anything can happen. People fishing after dark caught some stripers last night on the stick bait in their normal spawning areas. This is a perfect time for this kind of fishing with the full moon being the 18th. Crappie are all mixed up but some nice ones are being caught from Pigeon Creek to Briar Creek on brush. I am catching few on the main lake. Bass are pre-spawn feeding both early and late and there are a lot of creek minnows near the shore in the creeks. Most species are being caught now but you have to work for them and they are not in high numbers except for crappie if you happen to find a big school feeding. Some nice fish are coming in and I am catching no throwback crappie. The same areas seem to hold the small ones year after year and the same for the big ones. They are hitting the lure aggressively now and fighting like crazy almost like a smallmouth bass. I do not know what has gotten in them but they sure are fun to catch. Tomprrow at 8:45 AM is "Live in the Boat" with Darrel Binkley from Bink's Guide Service with a weekly fishing report and tip of the week on KTLO FM 97.9 Tune in for some good information on Norfork Lake. Blackburns has all of their cabins open now and the girls are working hard to get them all deep cleaned and ready for you. One bedroom cabins are still $59/day and your first boat stall is free. This will help off-set high gas prices and inflation and have a good vacation without paying too much or sacrificing any quality. We have a good place here.  Veterans and Police are also especially welcome Give Debbie a call at 870-492-5115 with any questions. Blackburns is the best place with the best price and closest to Mountain Home, dining and shopping while still being on 28-acres in the quiet peaceful country in a green beautiful valley.
