Norfork Lake Arkansas near Mountain Home in the Ozarks Mountains Region fishing report and lake condition by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental.

This is what it looks like out my front door. Image title

The lake level is 554.72 and is dropping very slowly with both generators running continuously. The White River at Newport is 21-feet and where it should be and where it should have been for the last three months until we get into the high 540's. At least they are doing it now. If they quit generating the lake will start to rise again but most of the slug is through from the rain early in the week. The surface water temperature was 44 in Blackburns Creek last evening. It is snowing very lightly but it looks like we mostly missed the bad weather again. We received sleet yesterday and today and it made everything slick but I see no ice buildup on the trees. The country roads are ice covered with packed down sleet  especially on the north sides of hills but the ground is not quite covered. The radar shows the weather is about moved out of the area and it is to get very cold tonight and start to warm a little tomorrow and much better on sunday. Things turned out a lot better than was predicted and we got through it without getting high water and power outages. The wind has remained light and that is also good. It will surely come back before the next front but I am very happy to be where we are at this time. It could have been much worse. It is to get back into the high 60's next week and that is also good. Now if gas prices and inflation would go down we would be all set here at Blackburns. Tuesday is march already. The lake is very clear.
