Norfork Lake condition, fishing and fall foliage report by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat Rental (click here for comments)

There is some fall foliage color but not a lot and it is starting to get late and the wind will not help anything. Image titleImage title

The lake level is 553.25 and is the same as it was yesterday with 1/2 generator running for a few hours. No effort to drop the lake. The lake surface water was 70.6 yesterday on the main lake with vsibility stained and you can see your lure down just a few feet. Not much has changed but it is now cloudy and there is a good chance of rain for the next two days with more wind. It was calm earlier but is picking up now. One guest reported catching eight fish with most of them crappie with a few nice bluegill. Open water temperate bass are showing up as predicted after a very slow September and early October. Bink has been on them for about three weeks. I do not fish for them anymore with the reduced numbers and want them to grow for a few years and will stick to crappie, walleye , Kentucky Bass and catfish. The lake will start turning over soon and the fish will scatter for a couple of weeks. It still looks like Thanksgiving will be good fishing. I am ready to catch some of those big smallmouth which will be going to the bank then and the large crappie. The lake is at a good level and good color and is in excellent condition for fishing. Tomorrow at 8:45 AM on KTLO Radio 97.9 FM and on cable channel 5 is the" live in the boat" radio show with Bink's Guide Service. I am anxious to hear what he has to say and if he is still on the fish.
