The lake level is 556.77 and has dropped 1-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours. They quit generating last evening and have not started back up yet. The surface water temperature was 86 last evening when I went out and there were just a few boats . It was very peaceful and the wind layed about 6:PM. I was spooning brush piles and the fish were not biting as well as yesterday. I caught one catfish, one bluegill, two Kentucky bass and four nice crappie and was fishing hard for about three hours. That is as long as I have fished in weeks and it was very nice. Perfect weather. All fish were caught in 27-32 feet of water on brush. I did see more schools of shad but there were no fish on them. Some bass were coming up later in the evening. The lake is in excellent condition going into the fall but needs to drop several feet for surge capacity. We are approaching the power pool of 555.75. It is to get very warm again this weekend with highs in the mid 90's.
