The lake level is 558.09 and has dropped 4-inches in the last 24-hours with 1-1/2 generators running most of the time. It has taken three days to drop the last foot. The last summer holiday is upon us and it looks to be very busy. We are full here with several boats rented and Debbie reports getting about 100 phone calls a day with people looking for cabins and boats. The big boats will churn up the water all weekend but it will clear again rapidly after the holiday. The creeks have turned green for some reason after being clear for several days but this changes for no apparant reason, sometimes daily. The surface water temperature remains about 87-degrees and the overall lake condition is excellent for boating and swimming. It is to get hot again later with a good chance of rain on Sunday and then get back into the 80's next week. Our normal high is now 85-degrees. The overnight lows are getting lower and are now in the mid to high 60's. We could use a rain badly but not all at once. An inch would be fine. We have dodged all of the severe weather and big rains so far and I am thankful and count my blessings. We have some good fishermen in this week and I will report their findings. I will sit this one out and only join the crowd if I have to. I am looking forward to Tuesday. For those coming and have not been here for a while be carefull out there. Things are much different and the lake level is down 15-feet from it's high in May. The Shore Patrol will be out in big numbers and that is a good thing. Fishermen get out early before the big boats take over and drop the spoon in 30-35 ft. of water on main lake points with brush.
