Norfork Lake fishing report and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

Caught earlier this afternoon. The school of fish under the dock is getting bigger and bigger. Image titleImage title

The lake level is 561.22 and has dropped 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with 1-1/2 generators running continuous. The surface water temperature is 86 degrees and just right for swimming and boating. I went out in the middle of the day for an hour and fished one brush pile in 30-ft. of water and caught four nice crappie, a kentucky bass and a short walleye all on the Bink's Spoon. Most of them hit on the drop right at the top of the brush. It was cool and cloudy today but has cleared off this afternoon. It is to be sunny and very warm for the next week. We received a few showers the last coupole of days but they did not amount to much except to keep everything green. Things are getting back to where day use areas are starting to open up and the lake should be in excellent condition for the Last Holiday of the season. Summer is still here though and shows no sign of going away. I usually catch more crappie on the Bobby Garland jig this time of year but not now. Also live minnows on slip floats are not working for me so I just stick to the 1/4 or 3/8th ounce spoon.
