Norfork Lake fishing report and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 563.93 and has dropped a little less than 3-1/2 inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 3/4ths the time. This is a pretty fast drop and it took four days to drop the last foot. It is very hot and dry but this should break a little this weekend with a 40% chance of rain and temperatures to drop about 10-degrees. Our normal high now is 90 degrees and has dropped one degree from it's high of 91. More and more brush is showing up on the shoreline and both the creeks and main lake remain clear. The surface water is now in the high 80's and is still rising again with the ambient temperature approaching 100 degrees. The lake is in good condition for both boating and fishing. The grass is turning brown and we really can use some rain. We could take a couple of inches of slow rain with no problem.  The dog days of summer end today and they are just about right on that, maybe just a couple of days off. I have to move my dock out again with the dropping water. It is important to not let your floating dock get grounded on the shore. Keep it floating or a wind will break off your walkway or bend or break your dock. We need the lake to drop four more feet to have normal services and no steps to the dock. At this rate it will happen before Labor Day unless we get a lot of rain and that does not look likely. Bass, bluegill, and catfish are being brought in everyday.
