The lake level is 567.22 and has dropped about 2-inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 60% of the time. They have been quitting generation all night for several days to hold the White River at Newport to below 12-feet for some unknown reason. That way they can hold the lakes up as high as possible for as long as possible. The lake water surface temperature is approaching 90-degrees with the hot weather but it is to break Sunday with highs in the mid 80's with scattered thundershowers. It is to be 100 here today. It happens every year at this time. I am seeing baitfish from this spring's hatch about 2-3 inches long everywhere. The shad are also making a comeback. Game Fish are coming up on bait for a few minutes at sunrise most days but not for long. They are mostly bass but a few hybrids and white bass are with them. I am pleasantly surprised about how well our fishermen are doing during the last of July both early morning and late evening.
