Norfork Lake fishing report and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

The lake level is 569.49 and has dropped a little less than 3-inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 80% of the time. They could have done this all along if they wanted to without hurting anybody. The surface water temperature is 84-85 degrees and has been fairly stable for quite some time. The main lake is clear and the creeks vary from clear to stained almost daily. Any debris is mostly stuck to the bank now with the dropping water but now some wood that was submerged is starting to surface. The lake has dropped about 3-1/2 feet from it's high earlier this summer. The lake overall is in good condition. Scuba divers are getting both crappie and walleye. Bink is really on the walleye in just over 30-ft. of water on the bottom with a jigging spoon. Trollers are getting some stripers but they are getting smaller and smaller. Overall fishing is just fair but some are being caught everyday. We are to get rain starting tomorrow and continuing until early next week but not a lot. We sure can use it. The weather has been beautiful and people are having fun. Blackburns big swimming pool with slide is the busiest place in town. Everyone here at Blackburns has had their Covid shots but if you have not you can social distance here as all of our cabins are individual with no duplexes or common porches. You do not have to get close to anybody. Veterans and police are especially welcome here.
