The lake level is 570.12 and has dropped a little less than 2-inches in the last 24-hours with generation about 60% of the time. The surface water temperature is 85 degrees and the water appears to be clear from the surface but the visibility is not good at the thermocline at 25-feet. Divers are getting some nice walleye though. Some bass are schooled up on shad in open water and are the best bite now, followed by walleye and a few stripers and crappie. Bluegill are still under docks and around willows on the main lake. Spoons are the best bait but trollers are catching some also. I do not troll and I like to feel the initial bite and set the hook, not just pick up a rod out of the rod holder. I can barely handle one rod at a time but do not miss very many fish. If I drug around 6-8 lines I would have everything messed up. The weather has been very cool for July and is pleasant. It is to get hot again later this week but not a lot of chance for rain. The lake is in excellent condition for swimming and boating and Blackburns has another group of nice people. We like that.
