Norfork Lake fishing report and lake conditions by Scuba Steve from Blackburns Resort and Boat rental (click here for comments)

This guy did not stay at Blackburns. He either has too much money or a little slow on the draw. Image title

The lake level is 567.20 and is stable when they generate and rises when they don't. The surface water temperature is 65 degrees and the fish are biting. Trollers are catching some stripers in the 6-9 pound range and bass fishermen are doing well. Crappie are good but there are several throwbacks. Walleye fishing is steady with some caught everyday. The top-water bite is geting better and they are either coming up of just under the surface. Fish for them the same way. The weather has been cool and nights have been cold and the surface water temperature has dropped just a bit in the last several days. The sun is shining now and the ambient temperature is in the low to mid 60's. It is to get near 80 on Sunday and Monday with rain back in the forecast on Monday. The lake in general is high but in pretty good condition and fairly clear. You can see your lure down a few feet. Fish are scattered out about everywhere except for in the deep main lake. Shad are still in the creeks but have move into the north facing ones with the predominate north wind for several days. There are a lot of fish under and around the dock. Blackburns is nearly full with several boats rented and the big pool is open. There is not much time for resort owners to be fishing now but I have a lot of good fishermen giving me reports. I try to get out as much as possible but cannot stay long. It would be nice if the water level would not rise any more but we can handle it here if it does. Come on down. We will not charge you too much.
