Mike with some nice ones.
The lake level is 553.56 and has remained right at the power pool for several months as are all of the other area lakes. It looks like they are going to hold them up high all year no matter how low the White River at Newport gets. It is at 10-ft. even now and dropping. It could be at 21-feet if they wanted to. The lake is in excellent condition now and perfect for fishing. Several fish of different species are just outside of brush in 45-50 ft. on shad and are biting on the spoon. They seem to be at the 45-50 ft. level no matter how deep the water is. The wind has finally receded and varies in direction with the fronts but has been from 5-10 MPH for several days with ambient highs in the early 50's making for confortable fishing. It has been calm in the evenings The good news is that the average high temperatures are on the rise. They went up to 44 today and had been at 43 for several days. With the days getting longer and the temperature rising means spring is on the way. It does not mean that we will not get any cool weather though but the chances are getting smaller. It all depends on the wind. Bink is on the temperate bass with all species being caught. I am still fishing for bass, crappie and bluegill. The jigging spoon is working the best. We have finished the new roof on the mobile home and are working on resurfacing the pool deck and basketball court. New floats are being installed under the dock and when that is finished it will be completely refurbished. New water pumps have been installed on both fish cleaning stations and we will be ready for you when you get here. Many new beds and bedding have been purchased as well as furniture. All of this is happening with absolutely no price increase to you. Not many places can say that. If you are not staying at Blackburns you are paying too much.
