The lake level is 555.19 and has dropped 1-3/4 inches in the last 24-hours with one generator running a little less than full speed. The surface temperature is 53 degrees and the lake in general is in excellent condition. They are holding the White River at Newport to less than 12-feet. We are expecting a cold low pressure tonight with wind and a little weather. It should pass by tomorrow and then no rain for a week with highs getting near 70 for several days towards the end of next weel. Fishing for bass, crappie and bluegill continue to be good with walleye next. Dave and Mike caught some very nice crappie and bass this morning already along with some short walleye. We are releasing some of the crappie and all of the bass under the dock. The school under the dock is getting larger and larger every day and I feed them twice a day. I use chicken feed and floating catfish feed. The chicken feed sinks slowly and they get it on the way down and the catfish feed floats and they hit it on top water. Most of the turtles hibernate but a few remain under the dock unless it gets very cold. The best bait for everything continues to be the spoon and then the jig. A few are using slip floats with some success. Bink likes that green stingray grub for the bass. I use it when I am not close to any brush. Some are still trolling but with very limited success. It looks like the wind has a very good chance of getting here tonight so batten down the hatches.  After that fishing may slow a bit but should get better every day until the next cold front gets here. Looks to be a good week ahead. Come on down to Blackburns. We have no duplexes so you can social distance and all cabins have big covered porches. Your first boat stall is free. We are open all year and have the best prices.
